Wheat fresh out of the field??
 

Has anybody ever bought wheat directly out of the field while it's being cut? If so, how do you clean it from the trash/chaff still in it. Now I grew up on a farm. We had a machine to do this for seed grains(wheat and soybeans). It used to be hand crank but Dad modified it with an electric motor.

Has anybody ever done this with handheld screens??

did it last year with some barley that i grew here winnowing is whats its called
basically throw the barley up in the air the lighter trash blows away the heavy
grains fall faster and closer I used a canvas drop sheet as the place to catch the barley.

Well, I didn't mean quite that basic. I meant after it had gone through the combine. But it still has a lot of chaff in it. I have bought "recleaned" wheat at the feed store which is pretty good. But even that has become scarce.
